Well, let's see. We woke up to a whopping 51 degrees this morning with a howling north wind. That should change things a bit out there on the water. That was the shortest summer I have ever seen!!! Actually, maybe it will make the fishing down there (Green Bay) even better since all you guys probably have all of our warm water now!!! All the same, I want to wish everyone at AIM-Green Bay the best of luck. Looking forward to watching the weigh-ins.

Hey Kevin,
You’re right, we’re right back where we were a few weeks ago. I went out of the ford river last night and fished down by Round Island, the water temp was 55 degrees, instead of 74 a couple days ago and the fish were worse than lock-jawed, they were gone! It was like they just vanished into thin water! I couldn’t, and never did find them. I was marking one here and there on the bottom of the Round Island drop-off, in 18FOW but that was it. I’m not quite sure where they go and stack up in conditions like that; shallow, deep, weeds, breaks? It’s one thing when you know that you’re on fish and they just won’t open up their mouth but it’s very frustrating when you can’t even locate them! Anyway, at least when it got dark a couple of little 19 inch’ers saved me from the skunk.
Get them ice augers ready, at this rate we’ll be needing them in a couple days!
