I just put an lcx-113(new) on my boat and I'm having an interesting time with it.  It seems to have a mind of it's own when it comes to tracking/holding onto a position.  It will "aquire" and "lose" a position several times in a matter of minutes and then either keep a position locked on or keep reading a lost position.  I have checked the satellites and sometimes I will have a good position with 3 satellites and then I might have 8 with no position.  Now I have an LMS-480 that was in the same spot (the unit and the gps module) and never had any problems like this and in all the same locations.  Anybody else ever have any problems like this?

I just installed a LCX110 in the spring. (Similar unit without the HD) How did you connect the Antenna? Did you add in the network cable and the terminators. If not then I suspect that you may be having issues with reading the signal from the Antenna. The unit expects a Blue Network connection properly terminated. Assuming that you did use the network connectors, it may be worth networking in a buddies GPS to confirm antenna functionality and eliminate the GPS unit.

Check out this how to link http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine/LowranceNET-Marine-Networking-System/Sample-LowranceNET-Marine-Network/

Good Luck

I fixed the problem.  Apparently the module was too close to the display.  I originally thought it wasn't an issue because I slid a peice of plywood between the display and the module and the signals for the sats. didn't change at all.  Once I actually dismounted the module and moved it around the boat it was immediately apparent that the issue was the two were too close to eachother.  Problem solved.......Just for future refference for anybody that happens to read this and knows anybody that encounters this type of problem.  Take the extra 5 minutes and dismount the module and walk it around your boat to see where the best signal area is. Just because you got your boat rigged a certain way from the dealership isn't always the best way.......
