Brett King Takes Green Bay AIM
The following is A Press release from AIM:
Brett King Takes Green Bay AIM
Brett King headed out on to the Bay of Green Bay this morning with a plan. He said in a morning interview he intended to get his seven in the lower Bay, and stay there until he was comfortable he was going to hold his own against the rest of a very talented field. He was then going to get out into the big water and try to swing for the fence and upgrade with a 30" fish or two.
Brett executed perfectly this morning, and headed out to the big water only to strike out on the big fish bite. Late this afternoon, he headed back into the lower Bay...and upgraded a few of his morning fish!
The weigh in had progressed to the last few anglers, and Brett was holding down the top spot after defeating Robert Blosser's total when the last challenger, Dennis Gulau took the stage. Dennis left the dock this morning in first, in a near dead heat with the top six. It was immediately evident Dennis had not done as well as he had hoped, and when his total came up on the MC Monitor, Tommy Skarlis announced Brett King had won.
The AIM Bay of Green Bay win was Brett King's first major tour win. He took the title pulling cranks under conditions he described as 'not a lot of fun' after a major cold front had stirred up the Bay and scattered weeds all along the surface. Brett described the technique in a morning interview with AIM, and talked about the win with AIM this evening.
Robert Blosser ended the tournament in second a couple pounds back, and Dennis Gulau ended in third. Rich Boggs, Chad Schilling, Scott Allen, Jason Przekurat, Todd Riley, Jon Tennessen, and Tom Gatzke rounded out the top ten.
On August 13-15, 2009, the AIM Pro Walleye Series™ will travel to Akaska, South Dakota to fish the expansive Missouri River. AIM will partner with the South Dakota Walleye Classic to stage a huge regional event. Anglers will have literally hundreds of square miles of the fertile Missouri River to explore. This event will place teams on the river at the peak of the late summer bite and will provide exiting competition with no slot limit restrictions or culling limitations.
Anglers Insight Marketing, LLC™ (AIM) is a unique tournament organization which is owned by stockholders, the majority of which are Professional walleye anglers. AIM Professionals are among the "All Stars" of professional fishing, with cumulative HUNDREDS of years of tournament experience, including countless tournament victories, series championships, and Angler of the Year titles. This insight and knowledge is now being employed to provide the finest tournament experience for the participants, and the maximum exposure for the host tournament sites and corporate partners.
Congrats Brett, you're the "King" of Green Bay. And thanks for developing the Smooth Moves seat bases. My back is never sore anymore and it was certainly a rough one in practice!

Thank you all!!! Life has been pretty good this week for sure and I dont think it has really sunk in as of yet.My family has been wonderfull thru all of this as I have really thrown a wrench in a family vacation this week with calls ,texts, e-mails, and interviews. This is what we fish for and alot of really good anglers don`t get the chance to win as it is so hard to beat this field over multiple days and I couldn`t be happier. Thanks Doug and Troy for believing I was gonna get this one and driving 5hours on the 4th of July to be there with my Family that rocks.Jon Tenneson of JT Custom tackle what can I say but thank you so much for everything you did to help me win and hey 9th place for your first tourney in five years is pretty special bud..Larry Smith also deserves a big thanks as well for helping us disect the system with your knowledge of the Bay.Again thank you all for the calls, posts, etc it is truely amazing!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Again Brett King

Congratulations to Brett! He had a plan and worked the plan to perfection. Brett admitted that it was hard work keeping the baits in the water and free of weeds and debris churned up by the hifgh winds earlier in the week. Did Brett win because he simply out worked everyone else???
The walleyes were really snapping in the "inner bay". The high winds and cool temperatures leading up to the start of the tournament shut down most of the bites out in deeper water. A few big walleyes came from structure as shallow as 3 feet in the warmer water of the south bay.
Despite much speculation to the contrary, the participants - Pros and Co-anglers LOVE Catch-Record-Release! AIM had a waiting list of over 10 Co-anglers and was turning away more registrations. Many Co-anglers expressed that they felt more a part of "the Team" than ever before. In addition, at this event (and Bay City) about half the field of Co-anglers were fishing their FIRST Pro-Am tournament! AIM's goal to expand the interest in tournament fishing seems to be accomplished.
Looking forward to the next tournament in Akaska, SD! Another increase in registrations is already being seen (with over one month to go!)
