New Records Set at Latest AIM™ Tournament in Green Bay

AIM announces results of record breaking event at the Green Bay AIM Pro Walleye Series™ tournament, and up-to-date Angler of the Year Standings

Plymouth, WI (July 21, 2010) - The AIM Pro Walleye Series™ tournament in Green Bay, held July 1st through 3rd, lived up to the expectations of the AIM Pro Anglers and yielded record catches of trophy walleyes.

The first milestone was the new Big Fish that was caught by Scott Allen on Day Two of the tournament. The 32.25” monster weighed 14.25 pounds, besting the previous record of 12.25 pounds. For his catch, Scott Allen received the “Me and My Catch” Big Fish award that included a certificate for a unique photo replica of the fish of his choice.

Second, the daily Big Basket weight was broken eight times during the contest. The previous record of 48.48 pounds was smashed by Perry Good with his 55.17 pound 7-fish weight on Day One, which represents a 7.9 pound average! Perry finished the tournament in 10th place and earned a $3,875 payout.

Third, the previous three-day total weight record of 102.51 pounds was broken by 21 of the AIM Pro Anglers at Green Bay! The Green Bay Champion, Robert Blosser had the top weight with 139.46 pounds – which is a 36% increase! For his 21 walleyes over the three day event, Robert averaged 6.6 pounds with the exclusive AIM Catch-Record-Release™ format. Robert’s victory paid him $30,000 of the $99,000 total Pro Angler purse – another AIM record based on the 66 entries.

All of these weights attest to the trophy walleye fishery that Green Bay has become. Because of the AIM Catch-Record-Release™ format, every one of these trophy walleyes was released live, exactly where they were caught.

The tournament results also shuffled the year-to-date JJ Keller Fishing Team Angler of the Year standings. After two qualifying tournaments, Keith Kavajecz now leads the Angler of the Year race. Keith is followed closely by Robert Blosser, the Green Bay Champion, and by Jarrad Fluekiger, the Bay City Champion. Complete, up-to-date Angler of the Year standings and further information about the AIM Pro Walleye Series™ can be found at www.aimfishing.com. Additional information about the JJ Keller Fishing Team, which will award the $10,000 Angler of the Year award for 2010, can be found at www.jjkellerfishingteam.com.
